At Sunrise Behavioral Therapy we strive to make the intake process smooth and informative, ensuring that every client receives the personalized care they need. Here’s what you can expect:
1. Initial Contact
Inquiry: The intake process begins when a family or caregiver reaches out to us via phone, email, or our website.
Information Gathering: Our intake coordinator will gather basic information about the client, including age, diagnosis, and areas of concern. This helps us understand the initial needs and determine the best course of action.
2. Consultation
Free Initial Consultation: We offer a complimentary consultation to discuss our services and answer any questions. This can be done virtually.
Discussing Goals and Expectations: During the consultation, we’ll talk about the family's goals for ABA therapy and provide an overview of what ABA is and how it can help.
3. Comprehensive Assessment
Scheduling an Assessment: Once the initial consultation and insurance verification are complete, we’ll schedule a comprehensive assessment with the Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA).
The BCBA will conduct a thorough assessment, including direct observation, interviews with parents and caregivers, and standardized testing (PEAK, VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, Socially Savvy and others!)
4. Development of an Individualized Treatment Plan
Creating the Plan: Based on the assessment results, the BCBA will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to the client’s unique needs. This plan will outline specific goals, intervention strategies, and methods for tracking progress.
Reviewing the Plan: The treatment plan will be reviewed with the family to ensure it aligns with their goals and expectations. We encourage open communication and input from the family during this stage.
5. Initiation of Services
Therapist Assignment: We will assign an RBT along with the BCBA to work with the client.
Scheduling Sessions: Therapy sessions will be scheduled based on the client’s needs and family’s availability. Sessions can take place in various settings, including at home or in the community.
